Immortals of Meluha: Hrithik as God but Who will play Goddess Sati?

Apparently, Priyanka and Kareena are pitted against each other to play the female lead in Immortals of Meluha film 


Ever since Karan Johar acquired the film rights for the novel Immortals of Meluha, there has been much talk about which stars would step into the shoes of Shiva and Sati — the protagonists of the novel. 

Close on the heels of buzz that Hrithik Roshan could play the male god, we now tell you that Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra are pitted against each other to play Sati. 


Our source says, “The rumour mills have been suggesting names like Vidya Balan, PC and even Katrina to play Sati. Now, the battle is between Kareena and Priyanka.”

While Kareena has been a favourite with the Karan Johar camp, Priyanka has delivered two hits for the filmmaker, with Dostana and Agneepath. 


And with Bebo and PC having engaged in very public bashing of each other on Karan’s TV chat show, it only remains to be seen in whose favour the scales will tip.

Sources say that Hrithik Roshan is ready to forget the failure of 'Guzaarish' and work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Guzaarish might have been a much-hyped film before its release, but its extremely dismal performance at the box office was also widely discussed. And after that, not many expected Hrithik Roshan to want to work with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali again.

But looks like Hrithik is willing to let bygones be bygones and sources say the actor could be gearing up to work with Bhansali again.

Our sources tell us, “SLB’s film is a love story based in Europe where the hero is on a bicycle trip through Europe when he falls in love with a girl.

Hrithik has given a verbal ‘yes’ for the film. The project will go on floor only after he finishes his superhero film and Bhansali completes his next with Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor. “

The source adds, “It also seems a right kind of break for Hrithik after two action packed roles in Agneepath and the superhero film.” Sanjay Leela Bhansali chose not to revert to our SMSes.

Revealed: The unheard secret of Krissh 3

Rakesh Roshan has completed shooting Krissh 3 barring the romantic songs. The climactic fight between Hrithik and Vivek has them locked in a photo-finish combat where Hrithik insisted that Vivek would get equal weightage, footage and leverage. 


Reasons Rakesh, “I had to justify Vivek’s presence. So his character gets equal importance to Hrithik. The story moves ahead with Vivek and Hrithik. And Vivek has done an amazing job. ”

Says the director, “For the last five months we’ve shot only the action scenes. All I can tell you is, the fights are not about showing the super-hero throwing punches. His opponent is just as powerful. We’re ready with two hours of film. We need to shoot another half an hour. ”

Rubbishing rumours that Farhan Akhtar was roped in to supervise the climactic fights Rakesh says, “Farhan? He’s grown up with my son. I love Farhan’s work. But I’ve been directing films from the time he was a child…I am very happy with the outcome. We’re nearly done. ”


The director admits Krissh 3 cannot compare with the action scenes in the Spiderman series. “In terms of stunt spectacle and action we’ve gone way beyond the other Krissh films. But we can’t compete with Hollywood. 


One of their action scenes is equal to my entire budget. We can’t afford the bigness of the Hollywood super-hero films. Given our monetary restrictions we’ve done whatever we could do with the action scenes. But our forte is the drama. 

So we’ve based all the action in emotions. Plain and simple, they’ve the money. We don’t. We have to depend on our content, the story and emotions. We’ll try to get the audience involved in the emotions and then get them sucked into the stunts. ”

Ends Rakesh Roshan, “This is the most difficult film I’ve ever shot. I’ve had to create a balance between my son’s character and Vivek’s character. The two look evenly-matched on screen. And that’s my biggest triumph. ”

It looks like Hrithik Roshan’s Krissh franchise just got bigger, much bigger. Vivek Oberoi’s character of the antagonist in Krissh 3 will now be a steady part of the Krissh series. 

What’s more, all plans to make Hrithik’s super-hero dance and sing have been dropped, because Vivek’s super-villain Kaal does none of that. 

Informs Rakesh Roshan, “Hrithik’s the super-hero won’t sing and dance. Both Krissh and Kaal are pitched against one another in a very serious combat. Any attempt to change the equation would tilt the balance. ”


Rakesh Roshan, speaking exclusively on Krissh 3 whose shooting, believe it or not, is almost done said, “For the first there’s another character in Krissh who is as powerful as Hrithik’s character. And that’s the super -villain played by Vivek. ” 


Rakesh neckdeep in post-production and the remaining fraction of the shooting, admits he had to work doubly hard to make sure the two characters of the super-hero and the super-villain remained balanced in the story. “It wasn’t just the super-hero. Hrithik also plays the hero Krishna and his father. So I had to balance three Hrithiks against one character of the villain. ”

Informs the director, “This time I had to work hard on establishing Vivek’s character. He’s a definite part of the franchise now. It makes sense to pitch Hrithik’s super-hero against an equally powerful villain. 

We’ve left no stone unturned to ensure it looks like a battle between equals. There’s no point in introducing an antagonist and then leaving the character half-finished. ”

Indian film industry's song and dance culture has found a fan in "Step Up Revolution" director Scott Speer, who is also impressed with Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan. "Yes, of course, anyone who is interested in dance and music will know about Indian movies. It has a lot of music and dance and colours in them," Speer said in an e-mail interaction.

Praising Hrithik after seeing him "Kites", the Hollywood director said: "I liked Hrithik Roshan as an actor and dancer in the Indian movie 'Kites' and have seen him dancing in 'Dhoom 2'." "Step Up Revolution" is the fourth instalment of dance movie "Step Up". "With So You Think You Can Dance" star Kathryn McCormick in the lead, the movie will release July 27 in both 2D and 3D formats. It also features Ryan Guzman, Misha Gabriel and Peter Gallagher.

Speer is an American music video director and has done several music videos for Mexican singer Belinda. In June 2007, he directed a three-part video series for the "High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale. "I love music, it brings life in me, it inspires me and when I close my eyes and visualize music, dance is something that completes my vision. Both the entities are inseparable for me and both depict emotions in its respective ways," said Speer.

Hrithik is 'super' angry!

Actor slams reports of Farhan Akhtar being called in to direct the climax of the sequel to his superhero film 'Krrish'

Hrithik Roshan is extremely upset over the reports that he has summoned his old friend Farhan Akhtar to over look the climax of his upcoming superhero film. All this, after the sequence being already shot some time back under the supervision of Hollywood action director Tony Ching.

A friend of Hrithik Roshan tells us, “Hrithik is very upset with media reports that he has requested the help of his old buddy Farhan Akhtar to shoot the climax portion of his upcoming superhero film.

The fact of the matter is that Tony Ching is a reputed name in Hollywood and was signed one year prior to the film went on the floors. Hrithik was the one who brought in Tony.”

The friend adds, “Before the film went on the floors, Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik and Tony had as many as six meetings and after that a huge set was made at Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad for the climax.” Some portions of the climax were also shot at Filmistan Studios in Goregaon and the sequence has been completed.

Our source further says, “Hrithik has been hands on this film and it is one of his most ambitious projects till date. The father-son duo is coming up with a film after a huge gap and they are leaving no stone unturned.

Hrithik is very upset by the reports and even went on a social networking site denying the news that Farhan was brought in to direct the climax.” Hrithik Roshan remained unavailable for comment.

Hrithik injured on the sets of Agneepath

Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan injured himself while shooting for his film 'Agneepath'. In a scene being shot at Versova, Hrithik was required to break a coconut on the ground. During one of the several takes, he injured his fingers. Only when the scene was cancelled did someone realise that Roshan's hand was bleeding.

According to sources, Hrithik's hand had a deep cut, which was bleeding profusely. The shoot on Tuesday was halted until he received first aid. However, producer Karan Johar would be pleased because whenever any actor is injured and bleeds on the sets, the film turns out to be a super hit, they said.

Sussanne was visibly thrilled at the opening of ‘ The Charcoal Project’ as she said, “It’s more than furniture. It’s the concept we’re trying to sell. This is our third baby.”

Sussanne said, “I chose this name because when you burn charcoal, it gives light. It gives out heat. To me when I take on a project, or a site, I want to give it heat, I want to give it life and create it into the ‘ The Charcoal Project’.” To which Hrithik earnestly quipped, “She can make it glow.”

And glow the place certainly did. The crème de la crème of the industry was present at the opening. Papa Rakesh Roshan was amongst the early birds, as was Shahid Kapoor. Shilpa Shetty breezed in and out with spouse Raj Kundra while newly weds Neelam Kothari and Sameer Soni too made an appearance. Shah Rukh Khan was conspicuous by his absence, but his better half Gauri graced the store and stayed till the end.

The shutterbugs started flashing overtime as soon as Aamir Khan made his grand entry sporting a moustache, part of his look for Reema Kagti’s film in which he plays a cop.

But the true hero of the evening was clearly Sussanne. While everyone showered the creative designer with praises about her new two storey store, Karan Johar put it best when he said, “Sussanne’s the star of the season. In terms of lifestyle, I don’t think anyone can touch this.”

Hrithik Roshan channeled 1970s fashion in a red polka dot shirt at a presser to announce his debut TV reality show 'Just Dance' at Filmistan Studios in Goregaon, Mumbai on Wednesday, February 16.

Hrithik, 37, pulled a senior Roshan (a 1970s Bollywood star) by pairing his big collar polka dot shirt with dapper grey suit. His makeover included small frame dark sunglasses, beard and long wavy hair. Hrithik was joined by co-judges Farah Khan and Vaibhavi Merchant.

The show will air on Star Plus on a weekend slot. The event call time was 3 pm, but Hrithik arrived at 5:15 pm; his charm and a few jaw dropping dance moves was all that the audience needed to forget the wait. Hrithik Roshan As A Judge On A Dance Reality Show

Only a few weeks after unveiling his waxwork in London’s Madame Tussauds, Hrithik Roshan’s high is set to continue.He is set to start working on the remake of Agneepath in which he will be playing the character of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan which was played by Amitabh Bachchan in the original. Also in the pipeline to release is Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. However, the exciting news coming in at the moment is that Roshan is getting ready to make his TV debut as a judge on a forthcoming dance reality show, Just Dance, on Star Plus.

It seems Hrithik is proving on the sets of Just Dance that his time-keeping, determination and hard work is unparalleled. Despite being in pain and on painkillers due to a muscle tear, the actor shot for the show at a 17-hour stretch.

Roshan was extremely mindful of the shoot not being cancelled as this would have amounted in significant financial ruin for the producers, “He didn’t let us cancel the shoot though we offered to do that because we were concerned about his health.”

The first promos of Just Dance are due to be released within the next week and fans should expect the show to air sometime this year. ‘Hrithik and Priyanka don’t believe in half-measures. If they’ve to convey intense feelings and passion they will go the whole hog in ‘Agneepath’. If in ‘Krissh’ they romanced innocently keeping the kids in mind, their togetherness in ‘Agneepath’ will be for adults only.

Karan was just a teenager when his father had produced the original ‘Agneepath’. He still remembers the fantastic rapport between Mr. Bachchan and Madhavi. That relationship, Karan and his ‘Agneepath’ remake’s director Karan Malhotra felt, needed to be developed.

Shahrukh Khan to act in Krrish 2

Two of the most dashing men in the bollywood industry having mesmerizing effects on the female co stars and the female fan following Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan have reportedly decided to work together.

Aishwarya rai and Hrithik Roshan's Guzaarish: Movie Review

The film is beautifully shot by Sudeep Chatterjee. It has strong performances and there are several scenes, which genuinely move you. But there is just as much that is clumsy, including an unintentionally comical group-hug in the climax. Despite the many admirable elements, Guzaarish never becomes more than the sum of its parts.

Co-written and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Guzaarish is cobbled together from many well-known movies. From Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige, Bhansali sources a world of magic and illusion in which rival magicians sabotage each other. So the protagonist, Ethan Mascarenhas played by Hrithik Roshan, is great magician who becomes a quadriplegic when a trick goes wrong. There are shades of Julian Schnabel’s The Diving Bell and the Butterfly and several scenes and characters lifted from the 2005 foreign-language Oscar winner The Sea Inside, in which Javier Bardem gives an astounding performance as a bed-ridden man who fights to die. Ethan makes a similar plea for euthanasia or as he calls it: ‘ethanasia’.

To this busy canvas, Bhansali adds a beautiful nurse Sophia, played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan; an apprentice Omar, played by Aditya Roy Kapur and a devoted lawyer, played by Shernaz Patel. The best part of the film is the beautifully etched relationship between Ethan and Sophia, who wearing floor-length Sabyasachi skirts and gorgeous earrings, seems to be channeling Frida Kahlo.

She calls him Mr Mascarenhas and handles him with a tough love devoid of pity. So, when he pretends to be aroused, she tops it with some world-class moans of her own.

Bhansali is among the few directors who enable Aishwarya to shed her trademark artificiality. Looking stunning, she delivers her most heart-felt performance in years. Hrithik struggles and sweats with a difficult role. Ethan must be gloriously life-affirming even as he begs for death. But his character, like the film, is too over-wrought and obviously manipulative.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has positioned himself as Hindi cinema’s poet of pain. His movies are operatic and highly melodramatic. But over the course of six films, the worlds Bhansali creates have become increasingly sealed off and removed from any known reality. So even though the characters in Guzaarish ostensibly live in Goa, the milieu isn’t one that you would recognise. This fantasy would be effective if the writing was more organic and the emotions felt more authentic but Bhansali never gives us a chance to invest in these people.

Characters just randomly appear and disappear. So Sophia’s abusive husband drops in for one scene as does Ethan’s rival who scars him for life. It’s clunky and strangely disjointed. Combining euthanasia with song-and-dance is a tough, tough feat and despite his prodigious talent, Bhansali can’t pull it off. Since we don’t have a two and three-quarter rating, I’m going with three stars.

Hrithik Roshan Kisses Katrina Kaif

Yess Folks!! You got that right. That isnt a Bollywood Gossip but a Bollywood News of the year. Bollywood’s reigning Diva Katrina Kaif is all set to make her onscreen smooch debut with none other than Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan.

Director Zoya Akhtar has a shot a two- minute steamy kissing scene, being touted as the longest lip lock in Bollywood so far, for her upcoming biggie Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara. Hrithik and Katrina are set to be casting opposite each other for the very first time in Zoya Akhtar’s film, though the two superstars have posed for the cover of Harper’s Bazaar magazine in the past.

But director Zoya is reluctant to reveal details on the kiss. “I don’t want to discuss details because we are still shooting the film. All I can say is that whatever we have shot is integral to the plot. Everything has been filmed beautifully and the actors look great together on screen,” she says.

Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara, Zoya’s second film after Luck By Chance, also stars her brother Farhan Akhtar along with Dev D duo Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechlin.

A large portion of the film has been shot in Spain where the unit drew the flak of animal activists when the three male actors shot a bull- running sequence.

According to reports, Katrina Kaif is also said to have done some daredevil bike stunts in the film.

Hrithik & Katrina set for one hell of a long kiss While this will be Katrina’s maiden on-screen kiss, Hrithik has mastered the smooching art.

He shared his first onscreen kiss with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the 2006 blockbuster Dhoom 2 and smooched Mexican beauty Barbara Mori in his dud home production Kites earlier this year.

If Hrithik and Aishwarya were quite uncomfortable while doing the kissing scene for Dhoom 2, Katrina‘s condition was no different when she was informed about the kissing scene by the director.

Says a source close to Katrina: “Initially, she was hesitant to doing the kissing scene with Hrithik. She wasn’t very enthusiastic about the idea. However, the director managed to convince her in the end.” Sources on the set of the film claim that despite her initial reluctance Katrina seemed quite comfortable kissing Hrithik when the scene was shot. The actress was very professional and co- operative all along, they add.

The kissing sequence happens at an important moment in the film where Hrithik Roshan‘s character looks into the eyes of the heroine and bids her goodbye without saying a word.

It is only then that the girl realises how much she loves him and runs up to him to seal her affection with a lip lock. So far, the longest kiss on- screen was shared by Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor in Raja Hindustani. It lasted for about a minute.

Whether Katrina manages to strike chemistry with Hrithik in Zoya’s film remains to be seen. One thing is sure, though – they will set a new record for Hindi films when it comes to puckering up.
