Stuck in traffic Sunil Shetty cancels trip to Ahmedabad

The actor had left from his Altamount Road residence in south Mumbai for the Santa Cruz airport

But the heavy rains worsened the situation forcing Anna to do a U-turn and head home, as he realised there was no way he would have reached the airport on time.

Due to which the makers had to cancel the Ahmedabad promotions of his upcoming film. Phew! Next time Anna might as well spend time in the suburbs to catch his flight on time.

No direction plans for Suniel Shetty

Actor Suniel Shetty, who plays a film director in his next release "Mere Dost Picture Abhi Baki Hai", says he has no plans to go behind the camera in real life, especially after his unsuccessful stint as a producer.

"I didn't become a good, successful producer... and a director, I don't think so, " the 50-year-old actor said here.

"I am doing a lot of things. Direction is a very focused job. He (a director) is not just concerned with the film, but has to handle the actors and even production, background effect, " Suniel said.

"I think it's too complex for me. I enjoy acting and I have signed a lot of films. So I want to continues enjoy acting, " added Suniel, who has produced films like "Khel-No Ordinary Game", "Rakht" and "Bhagam Bhag".

Directed by Rajnish Raj Thakur, "Mere Dost Picture Abhi Baki Hai" also features Om Puri, Rajpal Yadav and Udita Goswami. It hits theatres July 20.

Meanwhile, Suniel says he would love to do an action film - a genre he is glad is back in vogue.

"Action has given me image, so I would want to do action. The trend had dipped, but now action is back with a bang, " said Suniel, who kicked and punched in films like "Waqt Hamara Hai", "Suraksha" and "Mohra".

Currently he has other films lined up too.

"Two of my films are almost ready - 'Enemmy' is ready, 'Shooter' is ready. There is action in the films but it is linked with the story. They are police films and about their issues, " he added.

Suniel has also been signed on for "Hera Pheri 4."

First Look: Ranbir sporting a Ponytail

Ranbir Kapoor and Suniel Shetty were shooting at the Chandivili studio over the weekend

As soon as RK spotted Anna, he rushed towards him. Ranbir was spotted with a ponytail as part of his new look for his upcoming film. The two were also spotted exchanging BBM pin numbers too.

Chalo, are these the new BFF in Bollywood, kya?

'Time to do an item number'

`Time to do an item number`
Actor talks about getting overdosed on action and enjoying the comic Rowdy Rathore in a houseful London theatre

He may have been out of Bollywood films for a while now, but Sunil Shetty is quite upbeat about his forthcoming project. Especially, because he gets to play a director. Known to be an out-and-out action hero, the actor says his desire to do something different is what nudged him to sign this film.

You are playing a director in the film...
Yes, I play the role of a director called Amar Joshi. He wants to make a film based on a true story. He owns a video parlour in Benaras but all he wants to do in life is to become a director. This film has romance, humour and pain and I think everyone will connect and relate to it.

Why did you suddenly choose to do a comedy?
Indian cinema is changing and I felt there was an over-dose of action. Hence, I wanted to try something different and that’s why I chose to do comedy.

With films like The Dirty Picture and Paan Singh Tomar, there is wider acceptance among the audience. I loved Akki’s performance in Rowdy Rathore. I saw it in London and it was houseful.

More and more actors are doing item numbers. What about you?
If the script requires me to do one, I will surely do it.

Recently, you have been associated with cricket, hockey and even football...
I’ve always been passionate about sports. My day starts at 5 am and ends at 10 pm. Even my father starts his day with swimming and walking, while my mother does yoga.
