Priyanka Chopra goofs up...

Uh-oh, the ever diplomatic Priyanka Chopra has put her dainty foot in her mouth perhaps for the first time.

In her politically correct life. But what to do, there are times when even the best slip up. And this seems to have happened to her recently.

The actress was in Srinagar a few weeks ago shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Saat Khoon Maaf. And all through her stay, Priyanka made the right noises.

And struck the right poses. From the first day of her shoot in Srinagar, the local press was given a dekho of her look in SKM.

And her presence was marked on a daily basis with a regular dose of information on how she loved Kashmir and how she would even consider being the ambassador for J&K, etc.

The authorities and locals were very happy with the interest shown by the Bollywood diva in the long-troubled state.

Especially now that J&K is limping back to normalcy and tourism is close to boombing once again. After all, Priyanka is one of the few “thinking actresses” we have. However, the honeymoon for the Kashmiris with PC ended when she landed in New Delhi airport after her stay and reportedly told.

An electronic channel that she had enjoyed her stay in Kashmir but was happy to be back to ‘civilisation’. Some very sensitive sorts made note of Priyanka’s choice of words and are mighty upset with the actress for saying this.

A source says, “Some locals and even some political heavyweights are annoyed with Bollywood actors who come to Kashmir, sing paens in honour of the state, and then on their return to their homes, become careless in describing their stay in Kashmir.

Strife ridden or otherwise, Srinagar is home for a whole load of people. One has to be very careful about what one says. The Kashmiri people are very sensitive about their home, just like any of us is.” Priyanka was unavailable for comment because she’s now in Coorg, doing a further two-month stint in the hillstation for the same film, and Coorg is notoriously poor for cell network reception. But the Coorgis have their antennae up...
