Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is not called 'The Perfectionist' for nothing. If he gets into something, he puts all his heart, mind and soul to it.
He is not a kind of person to agree to something that he thinks is wrong. This attitude has put him into trouble waters this time around.
He has resigned from the committee of copyright amendment following disagreement with his fellow committee members.
He has sent his resignation to Kapil Sibal. In his letter to Sibal, Aamir wrote, “I cannot make any meaningful contribution in this atmosphere.
Aggression of this type leaves me feeling very disillusioned and sad and I am unable to function.”
He however applauded the move, as he thinks that the amendments to the Copyright Act are long overdue. He is confident that he would do wonders in the field of copyright like he did in the field of education.
It was reported that Aamir had a major disagreement with the veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar over the importance of music composers and lyricists, with Khan taking the side of film producers. He is said to be unhappy, as the other members of the committee are not in the mood to consider his suggestions though he is very sure that he wouldn't gain anything out of it.
HRD ministry formed the committee to resolve the issues regarding copyrights. It comprises of lyricists Javed Akhtar and Prasoon Joshi, music directors Vishal Dadlani and Ram Sampat, Film maker Ramesh Sippy, script writers Anjum Rajabali and Saket Choudhary and music companies T-Series and Sa Re Ga Ma. Aamir Khan is the only actor in the committee.
