Casey Anthony's Parents To Appear On The Dr. Phil Show

Can't say we didn't see this coming.

Though Casey Anthony herself has yet to land an interview for her side of her story, her parents Cindy and George will appear on the season premiere of Dr. Phil. The TV psychologist released a statement:

"Cindy and George have suffered a horrific loss with the untimely death of their granddaughter Caylee, and they have since endured an unprecedented public attack on their family. Have these attacks been warranted, or not? I looked them straight in the eye and asked some very tough questions. Nothing is off limits during this interview."

Good. Could you start with asking Cindy if she regrets trying to save her daughter's ass by lying for her? Oh sorry, that was never proved, right?

Speaking of Cindy, she too released a statement explaining her husband and her decision to sit down with Dr. Phil, saying:

"We knew that we'd want to speak at some point and we figured there was no better place than with Dr. Phil. We are hoping that by doing this interview, we will be able to help other people who may be experiencing struggles of their own. We certainly don’t want anyone to experience what we have these last three years."

This should be illuminating - and possibly too unsettling to watch. Then again, we'd have an easier time sitting through this interview than any one Casey will ever give.

Just such a sad situation. (perezhilton.com)
