So when young Shreya Acharya from Manipal insisted that Abhishek joins the kids up on stage to shake a leg to Kajrare Kajrare, her favourite track, the smart cookie that he is, he had already figured out an intelligent way to avoid dancing alongside these l’il powerhouses of talent who’d send him running for his money.
He said, “Guys, I will dance … sure! But on one condition, I want not just the kids, but their mothers to join me up on stage for the act.”
In one swift stroke, he cleverly achieved two things – one, he smoothly brushed aside any chance of looking pale in contrast to the young movers and shakers … and secondly, he managed to put a big smile on the faces of the pretty young mums who were only too thrilled to be matching steps with their heartthrob.
Abhishek was accompanied by members of his Bol Bachchan team during this visit – Ajay Devgan and director Rohit Shetty.
There was a easy camaraderie and a lot of good-natured leg-pulling between the judges Geeta Kapur, Master Marzi and the Bol Bacchan trio as they had all worked with each other in the past.
They all made fun on Marzi for his new-found prowess over Hindi and the bloopers he continues to makes.
In a lighter vein, Jay Bhanushali made a suggestion to Rohit Shetty, saying, “When you make your next sequel to Golmaal, just use Geeta’s picture in the opening credits instead of writing the title. After all, she is Gol and she’s a Maal.”
The trio was in splits.
Ajay Devgn rags Jay Bhanushali
As the host of Zee TV’s DID L’il Masters, Jay Bhanushali has always found himself at the receiving end of the pranks that grandmaster Mithun Chakraborty loves to play on him.
On hearing Jay’s fibs about how he has taught the best of Bollywood’s action heroes all the stunts and tricks that viewers see them performing in movies, Ajay and Rohit decided to put the big talker to test and took his case in every segment of the episode.
Whether it was imitating Amitabh Bachchan’s kaccha papad, pakka papad from the movie Yaarana or standing upright atop two moving bikes a la Ajay Devgn’s entry in his debut film Phool Aur Kaante, dares and stunts were thrown Jay’s way at every possible opportunity.
For the bike stunt, mischievous Uday and Faisal were only too enthusiastic to find two bicycles that Jay could be asked to stand on. And before anyone could blink an eyelid, they were up on the stage egging Jay on to give it his best shot.
Making matters even worse for poor Jay, Rohit Shetty and Marzi went up on stage and increased the gap between both the bikes.
When Jay finally attempted the stunt, he could only reach both bikes by standing on his toes! Much to his relief, he didn’t fall flat on his face on national television!
In keeping with the mandate from the Grandmasters’ Association, Ajay Devgn, being a dad, took it upon himself to ensure that all the participants on the show ate their vegetables and fruits by bringing them freshly grown veggies from his farmhouse on the outskirts of Mumbai.
While Tanay, Jeet & Shreya received a “lauki”, “kaakdi” and “gaajar” respectively, it was Marzi who walked away with the watermelon for his ‘impeccable’ Hindi which had the contestants and the audience in splits of laughter all through the show.
